Nature is healing. Breathe, relax, and discover the calming effects of the forest. Take a short walk, learn some science behind the healing and try some mindfulness activities for yourself and your students.
This is an outdoor activity. Meet outside of the Cock n' Bull Restaurant. This session overlaps with the breakfast hour, but you will still have 30 minutes for breakfast before the opening remarks.
We will discuss what community engagement looks like, see examples of successful community engagement, and present tools to help us better capture our community's involvement.
Join an environmental educator with over 30 years of experience teaching outdoors. Learn tips and best practices for group management, exploring with inquiry, allaying fears and more.
We'll take a walk outdoors to try out the techniques.
Participants are invited to introduce topics and facilitate discussions in small groups. In Open Space, all participants collectively suggest and select session topics and work together to create a session schedule for the given time frame. Open Space recognizes both the talent in the room as well as the topics important to attendees at this year's WPI.
Some topics already considered include: Conservation Landscaping, Indigenous Protocols, Website Design, and a share-out of this year's Global Water Museum Conference.
